Rise Up Academy's Kindergarten class works at a fast but steady pace to ensure students remain motivated and confident in their abilities while taking on advanced education curriculum. Though students are encouraged to work at their own pace and not pressured to "keep up" with the rest of the class, our Kindergarten students perform at benchmark levels or higher. This is in large part thanks to our low student-to-teacher ratio that makes it possible for students to receive the undivided attention required for success.

In the last 23 years, we have used an innovative Kindergarten and First grade Reading and Math Curriculum and have witnessed it closing the

achievement gap. By the end of kindergarten, the students will be reading on a first-grade level and will be able to sound out multisyllable words.

They will be answering comprehension questions about the stories they are reading and practice retelling the story focusing on including information from the beginning, middle and end of the story. They will have the ability to infer information from the text.In math they will be doing double digit addition and subtraction. They will be able to count by ones and tens from any given number up to 120 as well as

discern greater, less than, and equal with numbers up to 3 digits.

Beyond in-class studies, our Kindergarten students are invited to participate in extra-curricular activities including music, health and fitness, typing and chess club. These activities create amazing opportunities for students to continue developing the academic, social and emotional skills they've acquired while exploring new and exciting subjects.
