Preschool Classroom
Rise Up Academy's Preschool Classroom is an excellent space for students ages two to three and a half years of age to gain foundational social skills, experience emotional development and extend their attention span.
Our Preschool students enter the program with varying levels of
previous education and abilities, so we build upon students'
pre-existing knowledge and skills individually to prepare them
for advancement to our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom.
Our Preschool Classroom curriculum focuses on two main subjects being literacy and math.
Early literacy is the focal point of our Preschool curriculum. Classwork includes learning the alphabet, and understanding the names and sounds of letters. Students deepen their English knowledge each day with language exercises that strengthen speaking abilities and provide a foundation for effective communication and emotional development.
By the time our Preschool students are graduated to Pre-Kindergarten, they know the majority of letter names and sounds and are starting to blend the sounds. They practice writing letters and numbers. They can write their name.
In the last 23 years, we have used an innovative Reading and Math Curriculum and have witnessed it closing the achievement gap. Our Preschool curriculum also introduces basic math education, beginning with number recognition and counting while also introducing students to shapes and colors.
By the end of preschool, our
students know the numbers 1-30 and are doing simple addition and subtraction.
Throughout their time in our Preschool class, our students receive plenty of one-on-one time that allows us to set each student up for success in Pre-Kindergarten and beyond.
