Our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom curriculum builds on Preschool level literacy and math education with the addition of STEAM subjects.

The strong foundation in math and literacy that is provided by our Preschool education enables our Pre-Kindergarten students to take on a more advanced Kindergarten Phonics and Math program. Further, we introduce our Pre-Kindergarten students to the various fields of a STEAM education including Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

In our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom, we begin training students to be teachable and flexible so that they may have the ability to learn anything. We do this by ensuring all teachers, aides and staff offer students the support, connectivity and positivity they require to achieve their goals.

In the last 23 years, we have used an innovative Kindergarten Reading and Math. Curriculum and have witnessed it closing the achievement gap. By the end of PreK, students know all the letter names and sounds. They can blend sounds to read simple words and stories, and they can verbally answer comprehension questions about the story. In math they can count to 100 by ones and tens from a

given number. They can solve addition and subtraction word problems. They can compose and decompose number 11 to 19 into tens and ones (e.g., 18 =10+8).

Beyond academics, social and emotional development is a major focus in our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom. Students are taught resilience by being encouraged out of their comfort zones and to embrace failure as a learning opportunity.  Students learn to mindful, being kind to themselves and others. Students are also taught that change is a matter of when, not if, so they may learn adaptability and continue moving forward.

Our Pre-Kindergarten Teachers
